Graphics mod for MX Bikes
MX Bikes, in better light.
One file, opengl32.dll, next to mxbikes.exe in your Steam folder. HDR lighting, ambient occlusion, clean anti-aliasing, haze, weather and time of day, drawn over the game you already own. Delete the file and it's gone.
Graphics only · Never touches game code, memory or files · Sends nothing over the network

Highlights
Built on top of the game, not inside it.
MX Bikes draws with OpenGL. MXB Evolved sits between the game and your graphics driver, rewrites the lighting in the game's shaders as they load, and adds its own effects to the finished 3D frame, under the HUD.

Light and time of day
An HDR float render target with Neutral, AgX or ACES tone curves. Pick the hour and the sun moves with it: light and fog colours follow the sun's height, the sky turns gold at sunset, and the night has stars and a moon.
Shown: 08:00, 17:00, 18:00, 21:00. The game's own shadow map doesn't follow the moved sun yet.

Weather
Rain streaks and snowfall, overcast light, wet-looking ground, snow on everything that faces up, puddles that reflect the sky, and lightning with thunder that arrives after the flash.
Visual only: grip and physics never change.

A clean, camera-like image
Temporal anti-aliasing for fences and trees that don't shimmer, ambient occlusion, bloom, sharpening and a camera shutter blur that keeps your own bike sharp.
Soft shadow edges
When the game's shadows are on, their hard edges are filtered soft.
Dust and roost
Your rear wheel throws dust and clods in the colour of the ground, and spray in the rain.
In-game menu
F8 opens presets and live sliders. Everything can be switched off.
How it works

Where it stands
- In development. Every planned graphics feature is in at least in part; the features page says what each one still lacks.
- Tested on the developer's PC, windowed, on NVIDIA graphics. Fullscreen, AMD and Intel are not tested yet.
- Coming soon. MXB Evolved will be sold here once it's ready.
- On sale now. One-time payment, free updates.
Fair play
Better pictures, no advantage.
MXB Evolved changes how the game looks on your screen and nothing else. It never changes the game's code, memory or files, never sends anything over the network, can only make fog thicker, and reveals nothing other riders can't see. If MX Bikes updates to a build it doesn't know, it switches its effects off and the game runs stock.
